Flying Junior

Kinder Industries creates custom-fitted covers for the Flying Junior (FJ), a widely respected one-design dinghy used in high school, college, and club racing programs across the country. Known for its responsive handling and competitive two-person setup, the FJ deserves protection that matches its performance and longevity.
Our FJ covers are built with high-quality, marine-grade materials that are both breathable and water-resistant. This allows for air circulation while keeping out rain, UV rays, dirt, and mildew—essential for extending the life of your boat and maintaining race-ready condition. Every cover is cut specifically for the Flying Junior’s hull shape, rigging, and deck layout, ensuring a secure, streamlined fit.
We offer various configurations to suit your needs, including mast-up and mast-down covers, top and bottom covers, and trailering options for easy transport between regattas. Reinforced stitching, rugged tie-down points, and weather-resistant fabric make each cover durable enough for year-round protection.
Kinder Industries has over 30 years of experience in marine canvas, trusted by sailing programs, coaches, and student athletes nationwide. All of our FJ covers are made in the USA, combining craftsmanship and precision to help your boat stay protected and competitive for the long haul.
About:
The Flying Junior dinghy is the men’s single-handed Olympic class for sailing. It was designed by Swedish canoe designer, Rickard Sarby, in 1949 for the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki. Since the 1952 debut of the boat, the design has been in every summer Olympic Games, making it one of the most prolific Olympic sailboats.
